In continuation to the initiatives taken up by Andhra Pradesh Alliance for Child rights as well as Mahita Resource Centre, a child rights advocacy campaign “BALA NESTHAM” has been taken up which is aimed at partnering and promoting child rights coalitions and civil society organizations to generate public discourse, collective advocacy initiatives and strengthening accountability for protecting and promoting the rights of the children in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The goal of the project is towards ensuring a safe and enriching environment for all the children through facilitating state-wide interventions, involving children, NGOs and officials, thus foreseeing a formation of State Child Rights Commission in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

The interventions will take in to all 23 Districts of Andhra Pradesh with the support of District Level NGOs, Networks and other Key Stakeholders for addressing the issues related to rights of the children through various district level interventions. “Balanestham” will synergize the energies of various efforts of the NGOs and will streamline and strengthening the district NGOs initiatives towards protecting the rights of the children and provide a platform to take up the process at a larger level.
